What
are the most common applications for the Unipro?
The Unipro was designed to handle a huge variety of applications.
Mobile professionals will enjoy increased connectivity to
their contacts, schedules, E-mail, company intranet and other
functions in addition to being able to update their latest
information wherever they are.
How
is the Unipro different from the competition?

The Unipro is the only Palm-size PC with a v.34 modem
built-in -- no need to pay extra for an add-on; no need
to bring along the docking station when you need to connect
to a phone line. This makes the Unipro truly mobile.
- The
Unipro is the first Palm-size PC with a standard CFII slot,
the official CFA standard promulgated in April 1998. Watch
for the introduction of many new and exciting accessories
in the CFII form factor in the next few months.
- The
Unipro is field-upgradable to 8Mb of memory.
How
can I input information into the Unipro?
Information can be input to the Unipro by using the virtual
keyboards, CIC Jot handwriting recognition, Rich Ink (application
which lets you store information and drawings in your own
handwriting), voice recording and by Active Sync with your
PC (cradle, PSTN line, IrDa port)

can I get information from the Unipro?
By Active Sync with your PC (cradle, PSTN line, IrDa port)
and by fax (although additional software is needed).
Does
the Unipro support handwriting recognition?
The Unipro supports handwriting recognition with CIC Jot
which utilizes less graffiti than the Palm Pilot.
Can
I view Internet content on the Unipro?
The Unipro includes Mobile Channels software support which
provides offline viewing of news and information that you
select from the web or your company intranet. The Unipro supports
6 channels. The current web information is automatically downloaded
from your desktop computer while the Unipro is connected,
you can then view the information at your convenience.
Can
I surf the web?
Currently the Unipro does not come with browser software,
although third party software
does exist. The Unipro does come with "channels".
You have 6 channels that you can program for your Unipro to
keep updated while you are connected to your PC.
What
type of processor does the Unipro have?
The Unipro are shipping with a Philips processor running
at 75 MHz, the fastest in the product category.
Does
the Unipro have a serial port? Ethernet?
The serial port is located in the docking station (RS232)
and there is no ethernet connection.
What
software comes with the Unipro?
The Unipro comes with Contacts, Calendar, Channels, and
Note Taker

additional software is available for the Unipro?
Currently there are more than 1,000 developers that have
enrolled in the Windows CE Technical Beta Program. The Palm
size PC is based on a standard Windows-based platform that
guarantees the broad availability of after market companion
programs and custom business solutions.
How
many minutes of voice messages can I record?
You can record up to 50 minutes of regular voice recordings.
The length of the recording will vary greatly from user to
user, the amount of total memory available and the software
installed.
While
using the voice record feature, what type of file format is
the data stored in?
The data is stored in "Mobile Voice." The data
can also be stored in PCM.
What is the battery supply for the
Unipro?
The Unipro runs off of 2 AA batteries.
Can
you use rechargeable batteries?
Yes. You need to charge them outside of the unit.
How
long is the battery life?
Using a combination of applications and features the battery
life should be approximately 3+ weeks (15 hours of actual
processing time which = 1 hour per weekday)
Can
the Unipro be connected to a phone?
The unit can be connected to a phone line (PSTN line)
but not the actual phone.
Is
the IrDa (infrared) port standard?
Yes, the Unipro utilizes the standard IrDa.
Can
you use a PCM/CIA card?
No. The compact flash slot that we use has the same functionality
as the PCMCIA but in a smaller form factor.
How
do you make the Unipro wireless?
With a wireless pager card (1 way-receiving device) which
is not on the market yet.
Can
you hook up the Unipro to a notebook computer?
Yes, with the cradle or IrDa port if available on your
notebook.
Is
the Unipro going to have a color screen?
Future versions will have a color LCD
